333 - Teddy

Teddy has had his heart ripped out by a child that no longer wanted to play with him. What happens when a teddy bear loses his home and family? Well, he gets thrown in the garbage and becomes surly. Eventually he will rise from the depth and take revenge on children everywhere. Out of the three drawings this one needs the most work. Basically I need to redraw him. Posted by Picasa

333 - Penny

Meet Penny, the main character of Lucidity. I need to rework the side profile before modeling and the other drawings need to be cleaned up. Posted by Picasa

333 - Cupie Axe

This is my weapon concept for my Zbrush class, and yes that is a cupie doll head. I plan on cleaning these images up a bit before I model each one. Posted by Picasa

405 - Complex Mechanical

For my first trick I am going to model a windup toy called CosmoJetz by a company called kikkerland. Here is a link to the site where you can view a movie of it in action along with some pics. http://www.kikkerland.com/GA/1581.htm I will also take some pictures of the one I own and post them along with other concepts.

Blogger Spasms

Well....After trying to post and get things up to date on this blog for about two hours, and not to mention that blogger thinks that my blog is spam, I am now able to give an update....or something along those lines. My projects are having a creaky start but are finally moving. When I get home I will post all the concept pics I have for both classes. To hold you off I found some images of the new Dr. Seuss movie Horton Hears a Who! and decided to share. I hope to be this good someday.

405 - Flight

Wow! First day and already on my third post. Just a quick update on the second model I am doing of the cartoon character. Here is a link to the website for the short film that is being made with this character. http://www.animatedpunk.com/flight/
Now the short isn't going to be made with my model. The animation is for 2-D senior project. Also, make note, that the main character design has changed so, as of my posting, the design on the website is not the one I am doing. An updated version can be found at her deviant art site http://animatedpunk.deviantart.com.

And it begins....

So, the quarter has begun and along with that comes projects. Here at Studio I, I will talk about my progress this quarter with my Studio I class and my Zbrush class. Everything is open for critique, so please do. I will put the course number in the title field to differentiate between the two classes. Studio I will be (405 - Post title) and Zbrush, or Sculptural Texturing for Games, will be (333 - Post title). I will also be putting up links to other websites and reference images along with anything that I find is a good goal to work towards. My professor has required for us to post at least once a week, but I will be posting more. I am one of those people that when I start working on a project I don't stop thinking about it and getting out of bed at 3am to write down an idea becomes habitual. In short, check back often. I also have a website that has yet to be completed but has some stuff on it including useful links. You can find it at: http://www.acuppajoe.com Eventually, it is my plan to have a WordPress blog built into that site that I can make updates on it much like this blog, so others can always see my progress.
